Libby came to us from co-breeder and mentor Nancy Richmond as a 6 month puppy. High energy and extremely intelligent (and food motivated) she was easy to train although not always very predictable in her performance in the Companion Events.

Some of Libby’s career highlights and notes:

  • Conformation:
    • Best in Futurity Stakes at the 2011 Basset Hound Club of America National Show
    • Owner-handled to AKC Champion and Grand Champion titles
  • Rally:
    • All-breed Rally Trial class First Place with perfect score of 100
    • Retired from training in 2018 after emergency spay surgery due to pyometra
  • Agility:
    • Loved almost all of agility except the teeter-totter; she scared herself once at a trial and would never touch it again without the aid of a cheeseburger
    • Known as “Shrimpy” in local agility circles for her short stature and enthusiastic performances
