Spectrum Basset Hounds

Spectrum Basset Hounds are the pride and joy of Anne Testoni & Bjorn Zetterlund of Bolton, Massachusetts USA. Anne & Bjorn live on a 5 acre property in this semi-rural community and are bordered by 200 acres of permanently deeded conservation land. This gives the basset hounds plenty of room to play and plenty of wildlife to enrich life.

Anne has loved basset hounds since receiving Samuel of Trebor for her 15th birthday. She is active in many aspects of canine competition including conformation (dog shows), obedience, rally, agility, scent work, and pet therapy. She has recently been working her dogs in tracking, field trials and hunt tests. Bjorn is Anne’s pit crew and while he does not actively train the dogs he works hard on their daily care and comes to nearly all training sessions and competitions to provide physical and moral support.

Anne has been an active member of Pilgrim Basset Hound Club since 1992 and is currently the club treasurer. She has also served twice as president and as vice president, secretary, and director. She was also Pilgrim’s show chair through 2014 and was the club’s first webmaster. Anne has been a member of the Basset Hound Club of America since 1992. She served BHCA as director from 2010-2012, was corresponding secretary from 2014-2018 and served a term, from 2019 – 2020, as 2nd vice president. Anne’s all-breed club membership is with Wachusett Kennel Club; she served WKC as a director, is now vice president and AKC Delegate, and is chair of one of the club’s all-breed dog shows and chaired WKC’s first AKC scent work trial. WKC named Anne its 2015 recipient of the AKC Outstanding Sportsmanship Award. Finally, Anne was treasurer, rally trial chair, webmaster and AKC Delegate for Concord Dog Training Club up until it dissolved in 2018.

Bjorn is also a member of PBHC, WKC and the BHCA. His main love is driving anything with a motor at high performance driving schools and autocrosses with the BMW Car Club of America and a variety of other sports car clubs in New England.

On the professional side of things, Anne earned her PhD in Chemistry from Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois) and Bjorn earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, New York). They met as engineers in the semiconductor industry many years ago and support their love of bassets by working in high technology management.

The dog pictured on the home page is Hoppy, Champion Topsfield Sanchu Spectrum Hopscotch. The dog at the top of the other pages is Junior, American/Bermuda/Canadian Champion Me-Don’s Spectrum Von Line CD RN CGC. Junior was Anne’s “heart dog” and passed away at far too young an age.
